He received his M.S. in Management from the Zhytomyr Institute of Engineering and Technology in 1997 and a Ph.D. (‘Candidate of Economic Sciences’ degree) in Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing from the National Agrarian University (Kyiv) in 1999. He defended the habilitation dissertation in 2011 (Kyiv National Economic University).

 

Dr.Ivakhnenkov worked as an assistant auditor, a consultant on accounting computer systems, and chief accountant in business. From 2002 to 2005 he served as a chief accountant for the National University of ‘Kyiv-Mohyla Academy’.

 

Sergiy Ivakhnenkov is the author of monographs ‘Information Technologies of Auditing and Internal Control in the Context of Global Integration’ (2010), ‘Computer-aided Auditing’ (2005), ‘IT in Accounting Organization: History, Theory, Prospects’ (2001), text-book ‘Information Technologies in Accounting & Auditing Organization’ (2003, 2004, 2006), and a number of research articles as well as guides for students and professionals. He also is a co-author of the books ‘Accounting Information Systems’ (1997, 2002), ‘Information Technologies in Accounting & Auditing’ (2005), ‘Financial controlling: Methods and Information Technologies’ (2009).

 

His research interests include auditing automation and IT auditing, financial statements and accounting policy modeling, controlling.
